About Me

Just photographing for fun and relaxation

I moved to NZ 20 years ago from Scotland for a new job, after a few years of that one of my friends pointed out I was working all the time and needed a hobby. She suggested a photography course she was doing and that was it, I was hooked.

The thing about photography, for me at least, is that it's relaxing. If you are really thinking about making an image you aren't thinking about everything else that's going on around you, it's an escape of sorts I guess.

I've always loved landscape photography, getting out and seeing the stunning vista's of New Zealand is great. You know what they say about spending time in nature being good for your wellbeing, well spending time in NZ's outdoors isn't a small boost, it's like rocket fuel for the soul.

I'm not the world's best photographer, nor am I the most prolific, but I like what I create and people tend to like them, so why not, right?

Camera Shy

One of the reasons I love landscape photography is that I hate photographing people, it's really, really hard to photograph people and I have an immense level of respect for people that can do it.

It's one of the reasons you won't see any pictures of me on the site… I also hate getting my photo taken!

That said, every once in a while someone grabs an image of me doing what I love, standing behind a camera, like this one.

If you do like the images you see on the site, you can give them a bit of a thumbs up in the gallery if you like. We won't collect any details about you and don't track anything.

This is just a place to share some shots with friends and family around the world, your visit is just between us.
